1.    Introductory Comments/Adoption of Agenda

  • Note that Australia has submitted following papers for TPT-WG 14:

- Proposal to Implement Phase 1 of Proposed New EC Project
- Commercial Messages Project
- Draft Collective Action Plan (plus Attachments A and B)
- Requirements for Paper Documents (plus Attachment A)

2.    Proposal to Implement Phase 1 of the Proposed New EC Project

  • Consider and discuss proposal

    -        potential cooperation with the SCCP and link up with its UN/EDIFACT project

  • Economy participation (local coordinator plus list of business participants)
  • Consider draft Request for Proposal (RFP)
  • Nominate project Steering Committee
  • confirm meeting time

3.    Commercial Messages Project

  • Consider recommendations in discussion paper

- project concluded.
-       Lessons learnt plus business contacts rolled into new project

 

4.    Draft Collective Action Plan

  • Economy response to the 3 questions
  • Consider and discuss draft collective action plan
  • Consider action priorities and potential cooperation with customs, quarantine and finance authorities.
  • Lead economy and participating economies for each action priority.

5.     Requirements for Paper Document

  • Economy updates for matrix
  • Issues paper on paperless trading which was submitted to the Task Force was a catalyst for a Task Force proposal for Leaders to endorse a region-wide paperless trading initiative.
  • Consider recommendations in discussion paper

6.    APEC Electronic Commerce Task Force Work program

  • Consider and discuss report on Task Force meetings
  • Consider TPT-WG input to matrix on EC activities/work
  • Final Task Force meeting in Kuala Lumpur on 19-21 October

-    Draft APEC Vision Statement on EC and blueprint
-    A Proposal for paperless trading in the APEC region
-    Impediments survey

7.    TPT-WG internet web site www.apectptwg.org.au

  • Presentation on the web site
  • Consider and discuss issues in discussion paper

8.    New Project Steering Committee

  • consider and discuss proposal for implementation of Phase 1
  • discuss the role of a local project coordinator
  • discuss tendering process
  • discuss potential cooperation with SCCP through its UN/EDIFACT project
  • arrange for out of session discussion by e-mail or facsimile
