The terms of reference for the Experts Groups on Maritime Safety (EGMS) was agreed at TPT-WG 13.  The Expert Group on Maritime Safety (EGMS) was established pursuant to the APEC Transportation Ministers meeting in Victoria B.C. in June 1997 to address maritime safety concerns in the Region.  The Group's objectives are to identify maritime safety problems in the Region and propose recommendations for improvement.  The Group is chaired by Mr Richard Day of Canada (email: dayrh@tc.gc.ca, phone: +1 613 991 3131, fax: +1 613 993 8196).
