Program Director
APEC Secretariat
Program Director Jos?Barojas will present a report focusing on major recent developments
in APEC, and their potential impact on the work of the TPT-WG. This is an information
item.
5. APEC Management
Process:
5.1 ESC Committee - Introduction of
ECOTECH Weighting Matrix
The SOM has approved
recommendations of the ECOTECH Steering Committee for all APEC fora to utilise an ECOTECH
Weighting Matrix when considering project proposals and in forwarding them to the BMC.
This is an information item.
5.2 BMC – APEC Project Guidelines
The BMC has issued new guidelines
for the management of APEC projects. This is an information item.
5.3 Framework for the Integration of
Women in APEC
Leaders have endorsed the
'Framework for the Integration of Women' and have directed that it be
implemented by all fora. The APEC Ad Hoc Advisory Group on Gender Integration will make a
presentation on the Framework. This is a discussion item.
6. TPT-WG
Management Issues
6.1 Operational Plan
The former TPT-WG "Action
Programme" has been revised into a format for an annual Operational Plan. This is a
discussion item.
6.2 TPT-WG Project Approval
Guidelines
A redrafting of these guidelines
to meet the new BMC requirements. This is a decision item.
6.3 TPT-WG Roles and
Responsibilities
A summary of the roles and
responsibilities of the TPT-WG management team and meeting hosts. This is a discussion
item.
6.4 TPT-WG Website Administration
Australia will present a paper on
website administration and the Lead Shepherd will raise some associated management issues.
This is a discussion item.
7. Future Directions
7.1 Strategic
Directions Paper
A revised
Strategic Direction Paper will be discussed. This is a decision item.
7.2 Future TPT-WG
Meetings
TPT-WG 18 will
take place in Japan. Indications of hosts for the 19th and 20th meetings will be welcomed. This is an information item.
7.3 The Third APEC
Transportation Ministerial Meeting
Peru will host the
3rd Ministerial Meeting in the second quarter of 2001. The TPT-WG will have to commence
planning for this event. This is a discussion item.
